Automotive H-bridge Intelligent Gate Driver
The DR702Q/703Q are intelligent single H-bridge drivers for automotive applications that can simultaneously drive four external N-channel MOSFETs to realize bi-directional brushed DC motors. The DR702Q supports a hardware configuration interface and the DR703Q supports an SPI configuration interface. Both devices support PH/EN, independent H-Bridge, or standard PWM interfaces for forward, reverse, slow decay, coast, and other motor controls. In addition, the integrated charge pump architecture supports a 100% duty cycle output, which can also be used to drive an external battery reverse protection switch.The DR702Q/703Q can also be used to sequentially control multiple DC motors in a cost-effective manner through independent half-bridge modes. The DR702Q/703Q incorporates a current sampling amplifier and includes the ability to regulate the winding current using a fixed turn-off time PWM current chopper. By integrating a smart gate driver module, the DR702Q/703Q devices can protect external FETs without the need for any external gate components, such as resistors and zener diodes, etc. The DR702Q/703Q devices combine protection with gate drive configurability to improve design simplicity and bring a new level of intelligence to motor systems. For example, configurable dead-time optimization avoids pass-through, active/passive pull-down, and prevents dV/dT gate rotation; and programmable slew rate control provides flexibility in reducing EMI. The DR702Q/703Q also integrates a variety of protection functions - UVLO, CPUV, OCP, TSD, GDF, watchdog timer, and more. The DR702Q/703Q devices are available in a QFN-32 package.
